okay, so to start, i was in the backrooms, the first level was weeping angels but they looked like a woman made of black yarn, and i thought that if i let them kill me I'd wake up, because i did not want to be in that dream, but when a hand plunged into my chest, not only did i die and just respawn right where i died, but i also felt it, and my chest is still sore now, so after finding out that wouldn't work, i ran around until i found an elevator that took me to the next floor, floor 2 was a teacher who was a vampire, and she really looked like selma (my wife/fiancee), wearing a long sleeve shirt made of black yarn, at first i was just wandering around not knowing what this one was, with little blurs of someone running past hallways, until i got into a small room that had bunk beds on the left side and a table on the right, and when i picked up a log book (that's just what i think it was, I'm not entirely sure) the teacher appeared behind me and grabbed me, i fought back and we ended up on the top bunk with me pinning her down, then little bulges started coming from her shoulders, as a kid (presumably one of her students) in a line asked her "are you a vampire?" and she chuckled and said "yes, i even have little vampire wings on my shoulders" then i jumped up and started running, and i got lost for a little while, "woke up" into another dream about me and selma talking to each other in bed about the dream, but she would only talk if my eyes were closed, then i was back in the backrooms, the same level, the same spot i was in, and i started running around again, this time those blurs of someone running though the halls really fast were all around me, and i was panicking until i saw another elevator, i frantically pushed the button and and ran inside, and while i was pressing the button to go to the 3rd floor (there was only 1, 2, and 3), the teacher was slowly walking tword it gesturing for me to hold it, and i just said"absolutely not" as the doors closed, then the elevator started going down, when the doors opened i was greeted with what looked like a huge office space with flickering flourecent lights, and a lady at the elevator who welcomed me as i said "so this one is just work?" and she said "yes" and showed me to my seat, isaw another elevator but i decided to just stay there because it was the most peaceful so far, and right before i sat down another guy who kinda looked like me but older called me over and offered for me to sit next to him, as i was walking over i woke up, for real this time, but not completely, because i saw that i was in the real world, and i knew it was real, but the same thing about talking to selma about it but she would only talk when my eyes were closed was happening, except she was asleep this time, as she is now, amd when i fully woke up, it felt like i hadn't slept at all, i was exhausted, and like i said, my chest still hurt from where i was impaled by the black yarn weeping angels
Your dream is rich and layered, intertwining feelings of fear, connection, and perhaps even a search for meaning through your subconscious exploration of various "levels" or stages in your life and relationships. Here’s a breakdown of some key elements and themes that stand out in your dream:
The setting of the Backrooms signifies feelings of being trapped or lost in an unfamiliar space. This concept often relates to anxiety or discomfort in waking life. The liminal space you find yourself in reflects a transitional phase, possibly relating to challenges or changes in your life.
The Weeping Angels symbolize fear of the unknown and the feeling of being pursued or threatened. Their appearance as a woman made of black yarn may represent a fear of being entangled or constrained in your current circumstances. Black yarn could also symbolize things that are hidden or suppressed—issues in your life that feel intricate and difficult to unravel. The fact that you thought dying would allow you to escape the dream highlights a desire to find relief from current pressures.
The teacher figure embodies authority and perhaps the duality of caring and predatory nature inherent in some relationships (symbolized by the vampire aspect). Because she resembles Selma, it could suggest that you see aspects of your partner that are authoritative or could be nurturing. The black yarn again appears, representing interconnectedness, but also possibly indicating boundaries or challenges in your relationship. Fighting back shows your desire to assert autonomy and control.
Bunk beds usually suggest layers of personal childhood experiences or issues that may not have been resolved. The presence of kids in the context of the teacher may evoke feelings of innocence, vulnerability, or unfinished business that you may need to confront.
The experience of “waking up” multiple times could indicate feelings of being stuck in cycles or routines and a yearning to break free. This could symbolize a struggle to integrate your dreams or thoughts into your waking life, seeking clarity and peace. The fact that Selma only speaks when your eyes are closed suggests a longing to connect deeply with her, although perhaps there are barriers or misunderstandings between you that need to be addressed.
The office environment represents a place of order and responsibility, a contrast to the chaotic energy of levels one and two. This signifies perhaps the part of you that craves stability amidst fear and confusion. The older man who resembles you may embody future aspirations, wisdom, or aspects of maturity that you wish to attain in your own life.
The pain in your chest may indicate how deeply you feel the emotional weight of the situations you encounter—or a need to confront feelings of hurt or conflict that have not been fully processed.
Overall, your dream illustrates inner conflicts stemming from love, fear, and desire for change. It suggests that you are navigating through a maze of emotions tied to your identity, relationships, and life goals. Reflecting on these experiences through journaling or conversations with Selma, as well as possibly seeking clarity about what the dreaming self is trying to express, may help in processing the dream and its implications for your waking life. Additionally, consider addressing any underlying stress or anxiety that could be making you feel "exhausted," both physically and mentally.
